This book is an adaptation of a poem written by the author when he was 16 years old. He was inspired by his sister Shauna, who was born with Rett Syndrome. Unable to speak or walk on her own, the gift of Shauna's life and her family's love for her continues to encourage and bless many.

“Everybody should have a big brother who carries us forward.
— - Nikki Giovanni, Poet
This is a windy book for both children and adults. As soon as I received the book I read it and loved the story and the pictures. I had a son with special needs and we loved him very much. It makes you appreciate your family members more when you learn to deal with conditions that need special attention. I recommend this to anyone who wants to learn how to love those with special needs or has a family member with special needs.

I found the book very heart warming and full of love between a brother and his sister. The positive attitudes between the two of them over the years made the reader smile and realize people are loved no matter what.
